So, I was struck with an irrisistible idea for a crafty project, whereby I make glovelettes out of knotted string, using square knots. I know, pretty hard to imagine. We're getting ready for the big day. One of our many plans for the evening of scary merry making involves strings of spiders. While we could buy spiders, not only the plastic kind that come in webs but also ones made out of pom poms from Michaels, we thought it would be more fun to make them. And cheeper. Tonight will be more decorating, more planning. Hopefully a little costume planning, as wildelover and I have the basics of ours set aside, but not all of the finishing touches.

I love the smell of fall leaves. And pumpkin spice. Lit candles. Woodsmoke. Rain, mixed with a hint of cold -- the promise of snow to come.
