Theory On Heaven

My friends parents keep dying, to put it bluntly. First Carlee's dad, a couple weeks ago, and I just found out that Kate's mom died a week or so ago. Both in accidents. And it got me thinking, why does this happen?

Which, of course, lead to: why did Virgina Tech happen? Or September 11? Or wars or terrorism or any of that? Why would God take so many lives at once, or at all?

I'm not too familiar with the Bible, so I'm not sure what it says, but something kind of came to me yesterday, just out of the blue: God takes them because he needs them in Heaven. We don't just go there to do nothing for eternity, he has something for us to do up there, some project that only we can do. Maybe he takes us when we've finished learning on Earth what we need for our task in Heaven. Why else would people die young or tragically (or both)? Though it doesn't exactly explain suicide...hmm.

It probably seems random, but that's what came to me. Kind of makes death less scary, though I'm still scared of it (probably the only thing that really scares the crap out of me, other than things that cause it and needles) (and corpses...but that's self-explanatory) (wait, a corpse IS death, pretty much...).

(I officially use parentheses too much.)

In other depressing news...Southwind offered me a spot on their guard for this summer. Gah. It's only Southwind, but it's still a corps...but I already sent my "no" response. Thought about talking to Mom, but I already knew what she'd say. She better freakin' let me do it next summer or...I don't know. I'd say I would die but that kind of wouldn't make sense. But I am in serious need of some choreography.

80some days 'til we go back (I'm not by my calendar, otherwise I'd have an exact number).

religion, heaven, drum corps
