I've been surprisingly nonproductive this first week of my winter break, but that's what it's about, right? Taking a break?

Very good post. I mentioned to J. that Emily is a poet, and he responded with a, "That's bad news." LOL He says all poets are crazy, but none of the writers I know are particularly sane. Then again, none of the members of our family are particularly sane, either, so perhaps it's fitting that she's a poet. ;-)

Well, crap. I completely misread that part. I was kinda hoping Emily was a poet, crazy or not. Now I will have to hope that she is at least a little batty, if not a bard (what's the feminine of "bard," I wonder?).

Yes, what did happen to Thursday? I was in NOLA Thursday looking for a place to eat near the dome. We failed miserably with our timing and ended up getting sucked into the kids begging for IHOP when they saw one off Causeway Blvd.

I received your voice mail and noticed I had missed calls from two numbers. I called the number that I thought would be yours and the person who answered (I didn't recognize her voice) said you were already gone. That confused to heck out of me.

Anyway, I'm glad you found the IHOP. I was going to suggest you take the Causeway Blvd exit, anyway, as it's pretty much your last shot at finding any variety of restaurants suitable for your entire crew. Most of the restaurants around the Superdome/CBD area are pretty expensive or half restaurant-half bar.
