So I managed to survive the first week of work without any major dramas. Granted, it was pretty much a week of solid training plus miscellaneous admin things (like running between the different floors of the office and constantly bugging the IT and mailroom guys lol). One big plus about training though, is that they provide food! The croissants are the best things out of the lot in my opinion, (and terribly unhealthy haha but meh) but there's also cookies and rolls and fruit and cake and lots of other goodies!
They did something really cool for lunch yesterday though, for the Tax grads' first day. When we'd finished our training for the morning (lots of HR and quality stuff) one of the ladies annouced that 'since it was such a nice day outside, we thought we'd have a picnic!'. Turns out, they'd made little lunch packages in big brown paper bags and put them on a table outside, and you just grabbed one and went downstairs to sit on the grass outside to eat ^^. My bag contained a little bottle of OJ, a satay stick, a mini quiche, a salami roll, a biiiig crunchie bar, an apple, and a caramel slice. Lots of food! (I didn't finish all of it btw :P)
This week looks like more training, but at least it seems like the end of the road is near.. at least for this lot of training yay :)
Free time wise, sleeping early really sucks :P (well it feels like I should be getting so much more stuff done in the evening - despite the fact I usually do bugger all anyway lol). Nah actually sleeping early is really good, because I wake up in the morning not feeling tired!! (omg :P) Only thing is everyone else seems to stay up later than me, so I want to stay up and chat to them :(
Oh and I have to try and not spend my first paycheck entirely as soon as I get it XD
