New Wii and DS info
A few new games announced at a small event in Japan.
Nintendo of Japan recently held a small event where they announced some new software and details for both the DS and Wii. They confirmed there will be at least 18 Wii games released in Japan before the end of the year, which is much lower than us PAL gamers - it's expected there will be more than thirty games out here and the US by the end of 2006. Also, Japanese gamers can expect over 60 Virtual console games this year.
A release window was also announced for Big Brain Academy of first quarter 2007, along with a mysterious product called Wii Compact Software, which seems to be some kind of downloadable application - not much else is known. Another mysterious project is called Health Pack, which currently seems to be a Wii (and DS?) based non-game to help you get into shape (as if Wii Sports isn't enough).
On the DS front, another 'non-game' is coming, and this one's a digital cookbook! DS Menu Collection contains over 1,000 recipes for cooking novices (**cough **men**), and in a clever touch, it comes bundled with a magnetic clip that will hold the DS on your fridge while you cook. It also has a WiFi mode, but what it's used for is anyone's guess.
No mention of PAL (or US) releases of these new 'games', but given the success of Brain Training it seems likely. We'll keep you updated if more info comes to light!

Haha.. I wanna see what that menu app is like! Dunno how the heck a magnet could manage to hold your DS onto the fridge though, unless it was one of those horribly expensive industrial grade ones >_>
Also wonder if that 'Compact Software' title will end up being an organiser app?

The signup process is relatively straightforward: just head on over to the
