So in the last year or so I've gotten into Fender offset guitars. For years... decades really, I played Rickenbackers. Still love them but, I've had multiple rickys, bass and guitars and just wanted something different. I first got a Squier Jazzmaster... and started tinkering. Part of the fun of any guitar is changing things around a bit. My favorite ricky is my black 330 ("jetglo" in rickenbacker speak), that I had a bigsby vibrato installed on. It works great and totally made that guitar sound better! I thought I was being so original, having a bigsby installed on a black ricky until an old high school pal said "oh like John Lennon"... LOL.
So yeah, Squier Jazzmaster... I replaced the wiring and pickups, the pots, the bridge, the vibrato and then the neck. The neck is what you touch and feel, and the Fender Jazzmaster neck I put on makes the guitar feel so much nicer. It's sort of a partsmaster now! Then I got a squier Jaguar and did the same stuff to it. I LOVE THIS GUITAR. Feels so great, sounds fun... I had to dremel out the cavity, and I dremeled too much, so now I need to add some wood putty in.
Then a luthier I have been friends with for years made a light show offset guitar. It sounds great, but of course I've upgraded the hardware! So new Mastery Vibrato and bridge about to be installed.
The Jaguar has become my favorite, but since I over dremeled the cavity for the vibrato, you can see into it just a bit past the baseplate of the vibrato. Wood putty will fix this fine, and then me and Greg are gonna try refinishing it.
This just means for the next few months I won't be able to play my jaguar (parts-guar?).
I have to learn how to post photos.
