Wait--when did it get to be October?!
I can't believe it's October 23rd. It seems like we were moving in just yesterday!
Today was one of those lovely days that makes you think, "Oh, yeah, I love Portland!" Not a cloud in the sky...I'm observing at Childpeace this week and next, and I often walk the 20 minutes from the school back to my bus stop. It's so glorious to walk outside with no rain coat! When I got home I walked around the neighborhood some more, just because in all likelihood, we won't see very many more days like this. Fall here is nothing like on the east coast, but it's pretty nonetheless.
Even though the bus ride to Childpeace is just as long as my commute to Molalla, I don't mind, because I get to walk around downtown, which is always fun. Even though the entire downtown area is under major construction (they're putting in a new light rail line!!!), there are people everywhere. I'm sure it's nothing compared to New York, or London, but I just love the feeling of walking down the street amid crowds of people. The difference here, of course, is that everyone is nice and smiles, rather than elbowing you to get through.
