I'm a riceball!

I broke down and bought Fruits Basket Volumes 18 and 19 from Borders the other day. Now I have to wait until July to find out what happens next! Tree gave me the first volume of Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play to try out, but I miss my Furuba! Here is the song. I just love it. I think I love the series because it's about dysfunctional ( Read more... )

I never quite thought of Shigure that way. :O Now you'll have me adding Shigure-fic to my Snape-fic addiction...way to go. LoL.

HAHA, I wonder if there's any out there? I used to laugh at Tree for thinking Gaara was "hot," but now I'm in love with Kakashi, Renji and Shigure (hee hee)!

Where are you and Grant staying for ACen? (You can e-mail me privately if you feel safer telling me that way - kdmitche@iupui.edu - we can also exchange cell phones again if you want; my #'s still the same, but I don't know about yours.) I'm just getting worried because Stormie decided it would be better for us to stay at a hotel near the con because Tree wants to go to the ball and all these things that are late at night. Plus if we have a hotel room we can keep a cooler in there (a friend suggested we pack some meals and drinks to save money and time), and it will give us a place to take a nap or whatever (I know that from Dragon*Con! I took a nap every day.) Also, his friend lives in Oswego and that's a pretty far drive for him to pick us up and take us every day. The website said an overflow hotel may be announced, but I check every day and haven't seen anything yet. If you get any leads, please let me know, okay? I would ask if we could room with you, but I don't want to intrude on your and Grant's privacy. We never room with people at D*C. We usually have folks over for drinks, of course, but we just don't feel comfortable having a bunch of people sleeping in our room. But if you guys are open to our tagging along, we would help pitch in to pay for the room, etc. Just let me know. I'm just getting nervous and kicking myself for not being more on top of things. We just ordered our costumes last night! But I think the accessories that don't come with the costumes will be easy to make by hand. I think Tree said that Tobi's mask can be made from a paper plate. Thanks a lot! :-)

Well, we don't mind sharing our room (we pack in like 10 ppl at D*C, hee!) but I'm pretty sure we ended up with a king bed for A-Cen. We didn't think we'd get anyone besides the two of us wanting to go (the rest of our friends are saving for Otakon or Dragon*con.)

So, floor space is available, lol. You guys are certainly welcome if you don't mind that. We usually let the people on the floor pay less. ;)

That would be awesome! I'll talk with my husband, but I'm sure he won't mind since it will just be you two staying in the room. He might be more concerned if there were a bunch of people. We have an air mattress and sleeping bags. I'm a very good houseguest (I clean up after myself and am respectful of other people's space). Tree isn't quite there yet (she's 13; I still have to tell her to clean her room!), so I'll have to lecture her beforehand. I think I have your e-mail, so look for a message from me with my cell phone #. If you don't get it (which means your e-mail has changed), just e-mail me at kdmitche@iupui.edu and we'll chat from there. You can let me know by e-mail where you're staying and also how much money you want us to chip in for the room (which will mean more fun money for you and Grant!).

I'm a feeling a little better now! Thanks a bunch, hon. *HUGS*

Oh, one more thing. We're probably - again, due to disorganization and money issues - going to register at the Con on Friday morning (we're driving to Oswego on Thur. night). You don't think we'll have trouble getting badges, do you?

Thanks again.

I'll email you my cell # and the hotel details later tonight. :D Yay!

I'm not sure about the badges...we didn't arrive until Saturday last year, so I don't know what the lines are like Friday morning. You might be able to find something on the forum about how long the wait usually is.

BTW bringing food is a great idea if you don't have a car (or don't want to move it). I believe we had to walk a fair ways last year and it was cold and windy. I'm trying to convince Grant that we need to bring lots of snacks and PBJ this year.

Okay, look forward to hearing from you! (yay!) Thanks for the tips too. I love that PBJ song, especially when Brian does it on Family Guy! :-)
