So many of you will undoubtedly have noticed a rather large gap in my bloggings, well the reason for that is that I have been rather swamped. Throughout the time since my last blog I have been hard at work at the Bowling Green State University former university home of one Mr. Douglas bailey esq. While attending Sed University I have kept myself busy with roommate problems, high school drama, RA applications, and 17 credit hours.
Now many of you probably don't give a shit about my particulars in that department but for those of you who do here is a brief overview of my time in the second semester. I found that as many people told me to expect that 17 credit hours would kick my ass, and well my ass is going to be resoundingly kicked for this. It is difficult to find time to connect with friends who don't live within a ten minute walking distance from my room and so I apologize to those of you who may have felt neglected by my lack of attempts to connect with you it was mainly just because life has been so hectic. I love my classes though I am taking some very odd courses like Film and Literature of War which is a class which deals with the darker, unspoken side of war because it truly is heart wrenching to see what these men did for their country. Now I say men because to this point no women have been in any of the wars we have focused on.
As I sit in class I cannot help but think of dear Nick who is on his way to being part of the fighting forces and it makes me proud that he does indeed have the stones to go out there and fight for us something I sadly could never do. I also while doing class work have been busy in the midst of Resident Advisor applications in an attempt to gain large amounts of money to help ease the financial burden on my parents who have provided so much for me. To this point I remain in the alternate pool but my friends who are RAs say that there is an excellent chance that I will be called into work. This has been an interesting test for me because low and behold my own new roommate himself is one of the key reasons behind my training in his own particular way. He had the brilliant idea to bring alcohol into our room after our RA said he would kill the next person he found with it and I had to figure out a way to get it out without causing too much trouble. I wound up confessing to my RA and apologizing and admitting that my friend is a total douche he let us of extremely easy.
I often wonder how is it that you can leave high school and yet the drama follows you no matter where you go. My roommate and one of my best friends have had the traditional I hate you break up which of course can only mean one thing and that is shit for us to deal with. He has since stopped conversing with me because he feels that I am passing on information to her in an attempt to prolong the fight which is of course ludicrous. I have also found out that many people are making fun of me for my attachment to the St. Ignatius Letter jacket that I wear so proudly because they feel that high school is over and you don't need to continue to wear such a thing around a college campus.
For those of you who do care which I do believe is some of you my girlfriend Kirstin and I just surpassed six months a very happy time for the both of us because neither of us has had a relationship continue for this long of a period before. I also would like to say that neither of us could be any happier and we are looking forward to continuing for many more months and if possible years to come. My most heartfelt apologies to my friends at Near West Theatre for not being able to make it home for the benefit but the amount of work that I had to do was far too intense for me to take off that kind of weekend and so I hope all went well and I wish you all the very best of luck in your theatrical endeavors before I see you again. To miss Cory congrats on moving up in the theatrical world as it were I hear Atlanta is a wondrous place and good for you that you are being recognized in such a way.
I am actually writing this on my first official night of spring break which means in just four short days I will be flying off to New York to spend a week with my brother and his girlfriend seeing the sights. Thousands of pictures will of course follow. I once again find myself writing apologies as this cannot be a very social visit since I will only be here for roughly 5 days I need to look for a job and that means that I will be out and about on the town looking and that might not mean that I will be able to see all of the people that I want to see. I will try to see some people while I am here. Big news on the home front my brother is scheduled to be married this summer on July 7 so my girlfriend will be making an appearance in town and perhaps if there is a Sharron DeCosta party we will be able to attend. My fondest greetings to you all and I miss you very much and I will probably be randomly commenting and doing random things while home so look out of me.
Love you all.
Your friend,
Mark "Abes"
