Working Thru The Pain

So I had an MRI this morning at 6:45, and while it was not the horror that some movies have painted it to be, it wasn’t fun either. Damn that tube they put you in is tight. And I was quite dizzy afterward...

What? MRI?? Why ever did you have an MRI, Ben? ( Read more... )

Did you get the MRI results yet? I had neck problems years ago, and it caused my fingers to go numb. I imagine that's what yours is, too. But a lot of this stuff will go away on its own after awhile. Sometimes a long while. Try experimenting with holding your neck in various positions, and see if the pain lessens and/or the numbness goes away. For me, I would tilt my head downward, and that eased my numbness. It's resolved itself now, BTW.

I've had lots of PT, and while it helps some people, and sometimes it did help me, it got to the point where it didn't help. Sometimes a long, long rest is the best thing. I'm not talking about bed rest, I'm talking about not doing all those things that are keeping the neck irritated.

Let me just say one thing. If you ever wanted to get disability, maybe even total disability, you need to be able to show that you have gone through all these hoops, so don't dismiss it too quickly. You may need the proof that you tried all this, one day.

But most of all, I wish you health. This too shall pass.

*hugs*
