Some RL crap...
Besides getting the new job...
Went to a Haunted House thing in Greensboro with hubby's niece and nephew, had fun, hit my head on a school bus though. Then on the way home after dropping off the kids, we needed gas about an hour away from Wilmington, got off the exit and the gas stations there were all closed. So we were getting back onto the highway, on the entrance ramp and suddenly there was a deer. Pat tried to stop but he couldn't and we hit the deer. Quite traumatic, but the deer ran off and I have no idea what happened to him. However, my car didn't fare so well. The radiator and a/c condenser were busted, the hood was pushed up toward the windshield, the grill was demolished, both headlights broken, and passenger side quarter panel was pushed back with a nice dent. Neither Pat nor I were injured, so that was a plus.
So at like 2 am we were calling 411 for a tow truck, which cost us $250. Although he gave us a ride back to Wilmington and dropped the car at a body shop and then took us home. Then the on Monday we got an estimate on the car, $3900.00. Which we didn't have. And all of this happened 5 days before I paid off the car completely.
It sucked, and not in a positive, life-affirming way.
So, needless to say, we've borrowed money and I'll hopefully have the car back today or tomorrow.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, the day we got the estimate, I felt like terrible, had a fever, cough, sore throat all that exciting stuff, so we went to Urgent Care and I found out I had the flu. It kept me out of work for a week. Although, I did get some fun cough medicine.
So, that's what's been going on in my world for the past month or so. Fun stuff, eh? But things seem to be looking up now, so that's nice.
