I like those paintings. Being able to visit galleries is something that we can't do, living where we live, unless we go somewhere on holiday.
Like you, the nearest thing to a castle I've been in is... a castle! I think I read once that Wales has more castles per unit area than any other country in the world. I've visited most of the big Norman castles and quite a few of the small ones built and lived in by native Welsh princes and lords.

It was a big exhbition and well worth the visit - I do realise how lucky I am to be on the doorstep of London and near a very good train route, but far enough away to live near the countryside :)
I think the castle question must be for people who don't live in or near Europe? Kent being one of the main routes for invasion means there are 30 castles that still exist and many ruins :)

It was a luminescent painting and I loved how he made the sea look transparent. It is worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood of the National as there are no Homer paintings over here usually.
Definitely not a question for the UK is it. There are apparently 30 castles just in Kent!

There have certainly been a variety of statues on plinth #4, haven't they? I still think I liked the oddity of the blue chicken best!!
Thanks for sharing those paintings.
Those 3 castles are on my bucket list

I rather liked the icecream :)
All three of those are well worth a visit, but as there are 30 castles in Kent alone, there's a lot to explore!
