Sorry to hear you might be suffering from the same high rise blight as we are. The heights of the blocks here are going to be horrendous and are already causing terrible wind tunnels. Our doctor’s surgery, which is one of the biggest near the new flats, is completely overwhelmed but no thought has been given to any of this. Best of luck with stopping it.

Yes - it’s just not suitable planning for our small town! It’s so frustrating but we have over 4,000 objections in the planning website and the official count for attendees today was 350 people next time we’ll have a Saturday meet up and see how many more can come - the only reason we had it midweek was because of the BBC news coming …… :(

I will admit I was glad to read that other towns have problems ... Exeter is extending the university and there is a lot of extra student accomodation being built. We also had a new bus garage built, and funding was very suspect! Good luck

I can sort of understand a university town extending provision for students but it’s not nice to have all these high rise flats is it! I’m hoping we can stop the plans for our town (which is tiny!) as there’s no high rise flats at all at the moment and the only tall building is the college I used to work in which is 10 storeys.

Planners have their heads up their nether regions sometimes. Our idiot government wants to build a huge hospital on top of a hill, which will necessitate building a superhighway to get there. Someone has been given a backhander.

It's so frustrating, isn't it! No one is saying we don't need some upgrading to the old buildings, but we certainly don't want to have 19 storey high rise flats dwarfing the rest of the buildings in town!
