It's been sunny for most of the day and although the temperature was much lower than yesterday, it's not been windy - so has felt fairly warm (highs of 8C/46F).  We got up late-ish and had planned to have waffles, but when we got the electric waffle maker out it had stopped working *sadface*. We looked up when we bought it and it was 6 years ago, ( Read more... )

Pancakes are a lovely alternative to waffles! I "butter" mine with peanut butter. Peanut butter and maple syrup, mmm! I have never heard of fish pie, but I'll bet yours is delish.

You are going to perform tai chi!? I am impressed.

Pancakes are yummy!

Yes the tai chi kung fu fan is often performed as a demonstration. Like this https://youtu.be/-ovcPjxtIMo

Glad Youngest Cee is feeling a bit better.

We've seen the second series of Vienna Blood but not the first, which has been a bit confusing. We meant to catch the first series on the iPlayer and missed it. We're now trying to catch up with old stuff on our TiVo from BBC1 which will go in 3 months (possibly) since Virgin changed the channel to HD last week. I do find that annoying!

Yes it was weird that BBC HD is now the only choice all of a sudden.

Wow I’m surprised you understood what was going on in Vienna Blood as there’s a lot of references to the first series.

I quite like what I've found in better hotels now, which is kind of a sheet fitted around a duvet - so you're sleeping under a duvet, but not one that everyone before you has used, as the sheet obviously slips off easily for washing just as a top sheet would come off when the bed is changed. I guess it's like an easily changed duvet cover, but matches the bottom sheet and pillows.

Always some kind of cover use a duvet. I’ve seen the easy change ones that must make it simpler for staff in hotels. Mind you the ones I use have a whole side that is open to help with changing and makes it easier.

I remember a lengthy exchange on someone's LJ years ago about duvets vs top sheets. At the time, it was very strange to most Americans (I, personally, found changing the cover on our down quilt/duvet damn near impossible and couldn't imagine using it without a top sheet to keep it from having to be washed frequently). Now, I think they are more common in this country - t least in hotels. :)

Thanks - I’ve had a long chat with him today and his throat is very sore but no fever now.

Pancakes were lovely but we needed a walk afterwards! Lol!
