This new Covid19 Omicron variant has joined in with the Delta variant to push up numbers of people infected in the UK which is starting to make me wonder if my social plans for next week are going to happen *sighs*. There are lots of dire warnings being sent out and we're being told to not "mix with people you don't have to" and "all the things we know about Omicron are bad". But we've also be told that no-one is telling us to cancel anything..... (clear guidance as usual!). So having two couples plus us for a pre-Christmas drink and catch up next Thursday evening might not happen (always assuming they still want to come of course!). I'd suggest we have the get together outdoors, but even with the new outdoor fireplace it's supposed to be around 2C/35F outside next week *brrrr*.
Having said that I suppose we have to be realistic - a mildly well-known
comedian has died from Covid19 and he was double vaccinated and had had his booster. I now know three people who have still caught Covid even though they were fully vaccinated and boostered and felt really dreadful with it (and two recovered, but one has now developed 'long' covid). So it's still out there and it's still dangerous.
The bellydance mentor was supposed to be giving me some work today but now that France is essentially closing it's borders to people on Saturday night she's had to have a mad scramble to get over there. She was supposed to be going over next week with her husband to stay with her step daughter's family for Christmas, but it's suddenly got more urgent to leave. I got a hurried text this morning and I'm assuming she's driving there today as long as she's been able to get on Eurostar or the ferry. No doubt I'll find out at some point but it means no work for me over the next couple of weeks which is nice :)
This morning started with our penultimate lesson of online Tai Chi (last lesson for 2021 is next week). We did over an hour which was tough but we got further with the fan moves which was fun.
As I didn't have anything specific to do this afternoon I fiddled with our new TV. There are a whole load of apps you can set up for free on the TV but it means creating new free accounts and then lots of logging in. TVs these days are more like mini computers LOL! So now I can have an choice of different aquariums or a realistic 'fire' or some lovely views of nature playing on there. It's very relaxing (I am such a geek!). I can also turn it into a picture frame showing a succession of old masters including the frames which is rather interesting! Oh - and I can still watch the actual TV!
Now Mr Cee has finished work and he's fiddling with my old Microsoft laptop which he's upgraded for me. It's made it so much faster and opens programs in seconds rather than waiting for what seems like hours for something to open! He's so useful! *g* Later there will be our last Pilates lesson for this year unless we decided to go out on Monday evening, but as we're going on a 90 minute Nordic walk in the morning (followed by lunch in their outside restaurant) that might be enough for that day :)
Today's question: 16. A reality show idea that you would most definitely watch on television?
I don't watch reality shows (other than GBBO and Strictly Come Dancing which I don't consider to be reality shows as such) so I wouldn't even know where to start with this question....
