Catch up Thursday

Yesterday was a day of doing work stuff and other stuff, but nothing much of note. In the evening we went on a Nordic walk which was fun. It was moved from 5pm to 4pm which was nice as it meant the first part of the walk was in the twilight rather than pitch black. There was a lovely moon too. Under the cut for a couple of photos

Moon!

Here we are striding out through the woodland - there are still a lot of leaves on the trees.

The last half of the walk it was dark so we switch on our head torches and now we look like aliens LOL!

On the way home I got a text from one of my closest friends to let me know she'd been taken into hospital and asking if we could pop in and feed her elderly dog (she lives about 25 minutes away from us by car). Initially they thought she might have Covid, but they were running tests once that was ruled out. We have her keys so we went over to feed Boris who was fine, and very happy to see us....

Bless him - he is almost blind, but we gave him his dinner and made sure he was comfortable. When we got home I got another text saying my friend was being kept in as they thought she either had a blood clot or pneumonia - so she wouldn't be back that night. I ended up texting with the daughter of another of her friends (H) and I arranged to meet her at our friends house so she could get another key cut and we could share the care.

So today I've been over to see if Boris was OK (he was fine!) - gave him his breakfast and tidied up the house a bit as my friend had been whisked away in an ambulance, so there were a few plates and things to wash and put away. H came and we've arranged that she'll get a spare key cut and drop the original back to me and then I'll feed him again tonight (she has a four month old baby!). Her and her partner are away for the weekend, so she'll feed him tomorrow morning and I'll take over until she's back on Monday.

I wish I could bring Boris home with us, but the cats would hate it and I think he'd be much happier in his own home. H is going to go and see our friend in the hospital today to drop off her phone charger and some personal things to make her stay a bit more comportable. Hopefully H will see if there's any news (our friend has been moved onto a ward which allows visitors, so we're assuming she doesn't have pneumonia but her phone is dead at the moment!).

So it's all go!

I missed Tai Chi this morning, but I can catch up with the recording and Mr Cee and I will go over to see Boris after we've been to Pilates this evening so he can have his dinner. At some point we'll also try to see her in hospital if it's allowed and she's in over the weekend.

In the meantime I have questions:

17. What’s your mouse pad look like?
I have no mousepad. I do use a mouse with my laptop if I'm doing anything work related as it's easier (I've got a bluetooth full sized keyboard for the same reason), but it works just on the surface I put it on. The rest of the time I use the trackpad.

18. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader?
No and without wishing to disrespect anyone who believes in such things I think the people who pretend they are psychic or can read tarot are reading the people being taken in by them. IMO it is just as likely that they can see 'the other side' as someone doing card tricks/slight of hand is actually using magic.
