Another sunny day

It's nice to see the sun again! I got a lot done early today because a friend came round this morning. So I made a spinach and courgette lasagne for lunch and made enough sourdough dough to make four loaves later in the day. I'd just got those done and my friend came round and we spent a nice morning sitting on the deck in the sunshine drinking ( Read more... )

Probably because we have a significantly large population in England than Canada does (I think it’s about 20 million more people in our tiny bit of the island).

I'm still happy to take precautions, but I think it's important to still be able to go out and about

Yes, we have been going shopping more and are thinking we should start doing other things while still exercising caution. The numbers are still high in our borough, though not so much in my area, but it doesn't seem, so far, to be translating into very serious cases. I think we are just going to have to learn to live with it, but I can't see myself going maskless in shops or on public transport any time soon.

I think that places I’ve been to are also handling the restricted numbers really well. Certainly the galleries in London have really got a good way of stopping too many people and insisting on masks etc.

Definitely worth going to exhibitions now while it’s more strict IMO.

Good to hear your back is continuing to improve.

And that YC is looking forward to starting his new job.

I was thinking yesterday that being double vaccinated, maybe I was wasting resources using the home testing kit, but of course you're right. I had forgotten that the vaccinations aren't fully effective against the Delta variant, although good at reducing the seriousness of the infection. I will keep testing.

Thanks - yes my back is getting there, but it's still more painful than I'd like it to be. I just need to keep moving LOL!

I do think that if you have cold like symptoms it's worth testing. I've got a couple of boxes of test kits on hand just in case and I think that's what the Powers That Be are hoping we will do - so not a waste and also important if there's another variant in the future.
