Another sunny day

It's nice to see the sun again! I got a lot done early today because a friend came round this morning. So I made a spinach and courgette lasagne for lunch and made enough sourdough dough to make four loaves later in the day. I'd just got those done and my friend came round and we spent a nice morning sitting on the deck in the sunshine drinking coffee.  My back is much better now (just to odd twinge when I sit for too long), so that's good too.

My new bellydance teacher let all of us know today that the school should have allowed us to use the dance studio on Tuesday as that part of the school wasn't used for Covid testing. They did apologise, but clearly communication isn't very good within their team *eyeroll*! Fortunately this means that next week will be OK.

We've had a good lunch today as we have Pilates later. I'd added some tinned tomatoes to this recipe and didn't add the cream which made the recipe more tasty IMO. I did rather like the way that they suggested slicing the courgettes into ribbons to lay over the lasagne sheets - that worked really well and I'll make it again.

Now I'm relaxing as I have nothing on this afternoon which is nice. Youngest Cee had an online meeting to get to know his new team this afternoon and has just told me all about it. Sounds like they are a nice bunch so he's looking forward to starting the new job on Monday. His cladding is still being removed from his building, but fortunately no noisy stuff today so he could have his meeting in peace.

24. Are you more of a visual learner or an auditory learner?
I'm a much better auditory learner and I have a very good memory for anything I've heard. I used to have really dreadful shorthand and so my meeting notes when I had to take minutes would be very minimal as I could remember what I'd heard easily for months. Once I'd typed up notes it was even better. If I've hand written something or typed it I'll remember it for a long time. Conversely, give me something I have to read and I'll forget it almost straight away unless I make notes. This is why I can read a book and a year later read it again having forgotten most of it LOL!

I have now heard of three people who have developed Covid even though they've all had their double jabs. They aren't seriously ill (no more than cold symptoms) and fortunately they all had home test kits to confirm what they suspected. It is a sobering reminder that this is not going away any time soon, and that even if we've been fully vaccinated we still need to be cautious....

I'm not too worried, and I'm still happy to take precautions, but I think it's important to still be able to go out and about, so I'm just making sure I'm treating anyone I come into contact with as if they might be carrying the virus ;)

Number are slowing going down again, but not very quickly. Whole school years are being isolated because the teenagers are not treating it seriously (still!). I'm so glad I don't have to go into schools and colleges any more!
