Sunday musings watching the snow....*

Feb 07, 2021 11:15

It's very gently snowing and has been since about 8am but it's only lain on the grass and the roads and pavements are clear. We were given dire warnings about snow of at least 10cm/4" deep overnight, but that's not happened. It is supposed to snow most of today and over the next few days - so yesterday when we popped into the local garden centre (which is back open \0/) lots of parents were buying those plastic tray-like sledges. I hope their children aren't too disappointed...

I'm a bit behind with posting but we haven't been up to much. Friday we had Pilates in the morning and I spent most of the rest of the day in the glass studio as I have a couple of Etsy orders to fulfill. It was incredibly mild and sunny which was a nice change. The garden is starting to grow (a couple of Friday garden photos under the cut and my 'snowy' garden today)

The hellebores are coming out at the moment:

And the snowdrops are up..

Snow is falling....  sort of.....

Saturday we spent mostly cleaning the house - the kitchen needed a really 'deep' clean so that was my job and Mr Cee sorted out laundry and ironing. I have also ordered a new laptop which I'd been wanting to do for ages. I've ordered a Macbook which will be interesting as I've only ever had Microsoft laptops before.  In the evening we caught up with the two part Death In Paradise which marked the 10 year anniversary and was sweet and nostalgic and (as usual) we guessed who dunnit well before the end, but it was comfy viewing.

Today we've just washed all the hard floors and Mr Cee has gone out to get cat food as we had less than we thought we had (ooops)! I've got bread to bake later and this afternoon we'll probably watch a film or something - we have no specific plans but it's Sunday and that's OK. Later I've been offered free access to Dave the Neuromechanic coach's fitness classes until the end of February and he's said anyone in the household can join in with them. Tonight is a 30 minute pilates class, so we thought we'd give that a try.

5. What is your take on organ donation? I'm all for it - I've been a donor since I was in my teens. They can have whatever they want LOL!
6. What do you think about hunting? If you live somewhere where you need to hunt to find food I'm OK with that. I also understand that sometimes numbers of certain animals need to be reduced to stop overpopulation. I'm not OK with people killing animals for trophies, and seeing photos of people killing elephants or big cats for sport just makes me feel very angry.
7. What places are you really grateful exist? I am very grateful for all the lovely stately homes, museums and art galleries. I hope they survive all this as I love immersing myself in history and culture.
