Dec 26, 2020 17:31

We had a very nice day yesterday all things considered. It did seem almost normal because we had Youngest Cee here, and I've really enjoyed seeing him as it's been too long just Mr Cee and me.  We opened presents about 10.30 which was nice as it meant we could get the lunch all sorted out and the table laid (this is it just before I served lunch ( Read more... )

That sounds like a good day - and I love your presents!

I usually send D-d and the NYM home with food, too. As does his Mum, so today they will have lived on ham and turkey from her, and cranberry compote, and pecan and mincemeat pie, from us.

I was very spoiled by the family :)

It's essential that Youngest took some of the food as we really couldn't have eaten everything I bought! LOL!

Sounds like two lovely days.

I hardly dare look at the cases in our area. I can't see us coming out of Tier 4 any time soon, unfortunately.

The numbers have gone up again overnight - now we have 5386 which is even higher (3229 more than last week!!) It's really worrying....

It was good and we didn't miss our other son thanks to the wonders of technology!

Oh, those sound like lovely days well spent. We had to settle for a few outside, masked, hellos and exchanges of presents, and Zoom for the whole family. Which doesn't work all that well when there are a lot of you. Either everyone speaks at once, or there's silence until someone does. But it's better than not seeing them at all...

Yes - it's much harder on Zoom when there are a lot of you! We only had three households, so not too difficult. It was an almost but not quite like Christmas time. I am glad we don't have grandchildren as that must be much harder - I always think Christmas is for the youngsters and not seeing them must be so much harder at this time.

Missing the grandchildren has definitely been one of the more difficult parts of this whole thing.
