Catching up - Friday, Day 187

Sep 25, 2020 10:45

I've had a few busy days, so I've missed a few days! A brief summary:

Wednesday I spent the morning baking bread and cooking which was nice. In the afternoon I had another WEA course - this time the subject was 'Myths, Legends and Romance in Art and Music'. The tutor had uploaded the slides and the handout for the course on the virtual learning environment and I dutifully downloaded and read the handout before the sesson started. Unfortunately this tutor spent the whole 90 minutes reading the handout to us.... It was so disappointing!  He read it really fast, and didn't leave any time for questions or anything, so it was so boring. On the upside, it looks like I might miss one of the 7 sessions I've paid for, and if I do I'll still have all the information. I'm hoping that next week he does something different - I could see the other people on screen slowly getting more and more bored and one chap couldn't stop yawning LOL!  In the evening there was Mr Cee's Pilates class. One of the activities she had us doing was to pick up a face cloth with our feet to strengthen our foot mobility. We had to clutch it with our toes and rotate our feet and point our feet. Mr Cee and I had no trouble with that but several other people were really struggling. As I have Pilates again this morning I expect we'll be doing the same thing LOL!

Thursday morning I did the 'Muscles in Isolation class' and then a friend came round for lunch which meant we had a good catch up. After she'd gone it was time for my WEA  'Men and Women of the Pre-Raphaelite Movement' online class. Boy, did this highlight the contrast between tutors on these programmes! This lady really knows her stuff and she makes the 90 minutes fly past as it's so interesting. Lots of interaction with the onscreen classmates too. I'm really enjoying it. In the evening it was bellydance class - a couple of my classmates came to dance with me, which made it far more enjoyable. I think I did some of the turns in the wrong way though as my knee and hip are hurting today. I should know better, but old habits..... Thank goodness for DaveTJS's exercise regime, which I've been doing this morning and it feels a lot better as a result. I'm going to have to watch it though as I didn't sleep very well last night as it was all a bit painful.

I haven't got much planned today - Pilates this morning and then it's dull, cold and rainy outside, so I might spend the afternoon knitting something I started in the Spring. Just time to catch up with the 365 questions:

23 What’s your favorite Elton John song, and why?
This was Wednesday's question and I completely forgot to post it - this is a tough question as I like a lot of Elton John's songs but I do love how he plays the piano, so I'll go for 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word' under the cut for a YouTube clip of Elton before the wigs......

24 If you could choose any animal as a pet (all problems aside), which one would you have and why?
Any of the big cats. I'd love to scrunch the fur of a Tiger or listen to a Cheetah purring.
25 What’s something “everyone” knows how to do that you’ve never actually done?
This is so hard! I suppose I've never really ridden a bike to get from one place to another? Does that count? I used to borrow a friend's bike when we went to the park and we'd share it to ride around on it which is how I learned to ride one.
