It was the 12th yesterday so here is my entry for yesterday for
monthlydiaryday Sunday started around 8am for me - I hadn't slept very well for some reason as I felt very hot at one point during the night. I suspect I'd wrapped myself in the duvet and overheated LOL! After a large drink of water I felt a lot better and pottered around the house for a while having breakfast and tidying up a bit. At 11.30 one of my belly dance friends arrived at my house and Mr Cee drove us to the local station where we met two more friends. We were going to a belly dance workshop together in London, so we had decided to travel together. The trains from my local station are really fast so we got to London Bridge after 15 minutes and caught the tube to the Oval station where it was a very short walk to the dance studio.
The workshop was an introduction to using finger cymbals which are little cymbals you wear on your fingers to make a sounds while you are dancing. The basic sounds we learned were just using each hand and tapping out a rhythm (right, right, right-left-right, right, right, right-left-right). We also had to dampen the sound on different beats to make a slightly different sound (more like a beat than a ringing sound). It was hard!! Under the cut is a video of the teacher who was giving the workshop at a competition to show what you can achieve using these little instruments.

We spent a couple of hours learning how to make the different sounds which was fine until you start to have to move around with them as well, and then my brain got very confused (along with all the other beginners LOL!). It was really good fun though, and with practice I think it will be a nice thing to add to a choreography. The workshop finished at 3.00 and we were back home by 4.00 which was good. My friends all went home and Mr Cee and I unpacked the new electric induction hob and extractor hood which arrived yesterday to make sure it was OK (the packaging was a little bashed around). Fortunately they were fine. Mr Cee is going to sort out installing them at some point, but I have to be patient as I have a gas hob at the moment and that needs to be taken out and the hole in the countertop needs to be made slightly larger to fit the new one).
The evening was spent eating meze and catching up with Wisting a detective series we have been recording. It's set in Norway and is half in Norwegian and half in English (Carrie-Anne Moss is in it too) which is really good so far. Bedtime was around 10.00 and I think I nodded off over my book around 10.15 as I was tired! I don't remember the lights being turned off - Mr Cee must have done it *g*.
Today I have my second lesson of Nordic walking - we are going to a woodland where there is a Roman well as there were a lot of Roman settlements around this area. I haven't walked in that wood for a very long time so I'm looking forward to it, although rain is forecast, so I may get a bit wet!
Just time for the 365 questions:
12 Have you ever had a “crush” on a fictional character?
Not really a crush - but I have been drawn to several fictional characters - however if they were on screen I suppose it's more likely I was interested in the actors rather than the characters? I dunno.
13 What are your favorite pizza toppings?
I like veggie pizzas - my favourites usually have roasted vegetables, pesto, mozarella - maybe some black olives and anchovies as well.
