1 Will you be doing anything special for St. Patrick’s Day or is it just another day for you?
Just another day.
2 What is your ancestry and do you do anything special to celebrate it?
Mostly Scottish - some Huguenots - but all very much in the past. Mostly my family have lived in and around London, so I feel like a Londoner.
3. If you found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, how much of it would you spend on play and how much would you tuck away for another rainy day?
I have a list of things I would do if I ever had a lot of money, and I'd save some for a rainy day.
4. Have you ever travelled to the home of your ancestors, provided you don’t already live there?
I have travelled to Scotland and to France and I've visited the area of London where most of the Huguenots lived.
5. Have there been any surprises in your family tree?
My grandfather on my mother's side had another child (by another woman) which was unexpected. As I knew none of the people concerned (they were long dead when I was born) it's just a fascinating family fact. One of my ancestors was considered a master of the euphonium (he was a professor at the Duke of York's Royal Military School in the late 1800s) and his son went on to play in the Gilmore Band in the US.
