"Did you ever have a time when you couldn't make a rhyme?"

I just downloaded a few childrens' songs of our time including "I am a Pizza" and "On Top of Spaghetti" among other such favorites.  Children today are still listening to the same songs which is interesting to me. I haven't found a variation on them. No new Raffi or Charlotte Diamonds of their time.  In fact when I volunteered in schools prior to becoming an unemployed teacher (I'm actually not as bitter anymore!) I saw TWO C. Diamond shows and was very excited to hear "I am a Pizza" live!

Now some may choose to make fun of this. Some may choose to mock it by creating the song "I Am A Turnip" but I ask this person, what are all the verses? Where is the story development?

The peanut butter and jelly songs scares me slightly because the children's voices are really... creepy! They're soft and whispery as they sing about squishing grapes and peanuts.

My highlights of February:
-> Getting to be a real "Leader" at work. This means sharing the one-on-one time with another leader to ease the load. Now I interact with all of the 40+ kids and have an idea of how to manage them.
-> Giving Pilly to my love
-> No snow. Kind of.
