So I was in Seattle last week, and all I could think about was how this is where
eliza_jane's Jared and Jensen walk around. Although I was mostly in downtown and they live(d) in Fremont. Fandom may be taking over my life.
I was also traveling in BC and saw this sign which amused me:
(Vancouver is in BC, if someone didn't know that.) I wonder where they got their inspiration from!
Other than that, I've been traveling like crazy. Am finally settling down in one place for now, and am looking forward to being able to do some actual writing soon. My long!fic is up to almost 10.000 words (!!!) but I still need to figure out some crucial plot points, so... not sure how much more I can work on it right now. I have bunnies for a couple of shorter ones that I might try to work into either my
schmoop_bingo card or my
hc_bingo one. Stay tuned! I'll be looking for a beta soon so if anyone is interested I would be very happy to talk to you.
I've been watching SPN - I've finally finished season 1 and am starting season 2. Years behind everyone, I know, but better late than never! I could talk lots about it, but I think I'll keep watching for now.
And now, some recs! Mostly BB.

Green means go! This fic is amazing. Happens in an alternate history where Jared is a mercenary kind of working for the Republic of Texas when he sees Jensen, his former partner who's been missing for four years, at a market. This fic has political intrigue, action, subterfuge, amazing world-building, environmentalism, badass!Misha, and convincing characterisation. Not too much porn, but it fit the fic really well. I only wish it were longer.

The sinister nature of cul-de-sacs. Jensen the recently-divorced landscaper moves to a new house, where the yard next door is an absolute disaster. He soon finds out that his next door neighbour never leaves the house, and gets the urge to both figure out what that's all about and to fix his yard. Plot ensues.
I really enjoyed this one. Quirky, cute, hot, and with a twist. I kind of wish there had been more explanation of certain plot points, but overall I'm not complaining. Enjoyable read! And, the art is pretty amazing too, especially the first picture.

Hail Mary. Not gonna lie, I probably squeed for about a minute when I found out that NMU was going to get a sequel. I read that one when it came out (one of the very few fics I read at the time) and although I knew absolutely nothing about football it drew me in and I was hooked. The ending was SO frustrating, but it's all good because now there's Hail Mary! This fic delivered everything that I was hoping for. The football part is interesting and entertaining, whether you care about football or not (and that takes skill!), the relationship between Jared and Jensen develops and changes gradually, you can see how they're the same people they were ten years earlier but also how they've changed, and just ... happy sigh. I think I've read it twice already, as well as rereading NMU and all the time stamps. I love this verse. All I want is more!!! More time stamps, plz. The art for this one is also really great.
I think that's it for now!
oh, and I think I have some new friends! Hello and welcome :)
