I'll kiss your hand; you won't see the smirk beneath my lowered eyes

Junior year is fine. My classes are fun and interesting and there are more cool people at West than I first realized. However, I feel a bit disconnected from myself; I suppose being busy can do that, but it's still somewhat disappointing. I am becoming less aware of how I act, and my ego is growing exponentially, especially ever since I grew out ( Read more... )

MATT!! I definately agree, Junior year is rockin, at lest here in the OP it is. I`m having way more fun in everything this year, I guess. I mean, I have all sorts of friends everywhere I go in the school, I had 2 people wanting to ask me to homecoming (haha, I`m a dork for thinking its benefit to jr. year, I know, but it`s pretty good for the ego!!)and life is jsut rad all around. I don`t remember waht we did for fun before we all could drive (everyone except me, that is- driving scares me, and until my parents force me to et my license on dec 1, I will not be driving.)I have alot of big decisions to make, for example, I`m either going to Japan for a month with the japanese class I`m in at the H.S., or I`m goingto dance at the Alvin Ailey School in N.Y.C. for 6 weeks, and its really a decision of what I want to put in my college app., what I have to do to dance i nthe future, you know? There are alot of things like that. BUT- I`m excited for college, even though I`m slowly starting to realize that alot of schools' dance programs ( ... )

It sounds ounds like you're doing pretty well, as I would've hoped. Gah I miss the OP, it's a sweet place. And yeah, driving is definitely a large factor in that whole having-fun thing these days... hard to imagine that less than a year ago I had to ask my mom to drive me to go hang out with my friends.

That's a big decision you have to make - a month in Japan or six weeks dancing in NYC? Yikes. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun doing either, but, wow.

Are you ever coming back to Iowa City to visit your relatives around here? That would be the coolest, you should bug somebody about getting on that.

Sincerely,
Mountain Matt

aaahhck, surprisingly enough, no one has even mentioned goingto Iowa around here, which is really odd, we`ve usually gone down there at least once by now, to watch the hawkeyes play football. As soon as my family returns tonormal and goestback out to Iowa, I`ll let you know!

Matisyahu is the man... I didn't get to see him at Gabe's, but I bought his live CD for $8 yesterday, and it was well worth the money.

1. Yes.
2. That would be wonderful, I'm always looking for new music to listen to. Also, I trust and respect your musical tastes. I may even attempt to burn you a CD of my choice, but I dunno, I fear that you already have everything I've ever listened to.
3. Maybe we can combine this and #1. Someday.

I sauteed some apple slices and cinnamon to see what would happen, and then I put it in this pumpkin-curry pita that I made yesterday to see what would happen. It wasn't actually as good as it sounds.

Ahh, the glory days of ninth grade.

I'm going to give you a get-a-hug-free-whenever-you-want-it card in return for the award. I probably won't actually make it but you can assume that it is in effect all the time.
