So, I actually signed up for the flexible health spending account this year. I had before, then kept forgetting. The program has..changed.
Used to be at end of year I'd gather my receipts and send them in, and I think I then received a refund. The good news is, no more receipts at end, and no more having to pay up front.
On the other hand
*It's a debit card. I HATE debit cards.
*It's with a private bank, which I may or may not want anything to do with
*I'm guessing this means it will be on my credit report
**I* have to be sure not to overcharge the account or pay oodles of fees. Just reject it already, with a response of how much is left.
*Oh, and I HAVE (in bold) to review my account at least once a month. Really? If I've run out of money, why?
*And no more cashback on the payments I could make with my Discover card. :P
*Oh, and it came today. Fiscal year already started. I actually saw a nurse yesterday. Thanks for having it here on time, folks.
Not impressed. It feels like just more profit-making for a private bank that's paid off a politician.
I'll deal with it, but still....I'm not sure debit cards are that much of an improvement when they come with all the baggage of normal debit cards.
