A big month for the former baby Miranda
Miranda... is a big girl. She drinks from a cup and not a bottle. She sleeps in a bed and not a crib. She calls her baby sister "Kaity" and not "Kay-kay," calls Sammie "dog" and not "dog-dog," responds to "I love you" with "I love you," counts to 10 - skipping 7 because it is her preference to do so, and sings the ABC song using the highlights method. She does share toys... when she wants to. She takes good care of her babies by covering them with blankets and changing their diapers and singing to them. She has real phone conversations. She sweeps the kitchen floor. She uses a napkin. She climbs into her own chair when she wants to eat. She brings Daddy his belt and shoes in the morning. She tells Mommy/Gramma/whomever, "Don't cry. It's OK." (not that we sit around her crying all the time!) She sort of picks up her toys. Sometimes, she just has to dance. Sometimes, she just has to run down the street even when Mommy is telling her no. Sometimes, she throws amazing tantrums that involve the textbook flinging of self on the floor and kicking of legs. Sometimes, she spontaneously smiles from ear to ear or runs up and gives a great big hug, and is the most amazing almost-2-year-old miracle in the world.
