Ok, this is random and a little mean, but I love that DMC canonically states that on Will and Elizabeth's wedding day, Jack is nowhere near them, much less secretly attending due to personal invitation. Just a little "Booyah!" to all the fans who think that Jack actually likes the whelps and vice versa. Jack is wary of Elizabeth and bored by Will. He may think their undying love for each other is romantic, but mostly it's boring and convenient for manipulating them. Sexual attraction is of course separate from and not effected by all of this, because after AWE it's canon that Jack is attracted to anything.
However, deep inside, Jack is a nice guy who doesn't like seeing people be miserable or die, even if they've betrayed him and/or tried to kill him numerous times. Probably because so many have betrayed and/or tried to kill Jack that it simply doesn't register anymore. Likewise, Will can fight to rescue Jack without liking him very much because Will thinks it is The Right Thing To Do and Elizabeth can back him up because seeing Will die in a melee would make her Sad.
