I was also thinking, in that particular scenario, that there's nothing to stop Jim from turning the tables when Spock is absent.

"Just you wait until Spock comes home!" Uhura yelled, beating her fists against Jim's back. "You're really gonna regret this!"

"No, I don't think I will," said Jim, and tossed her onto the bed.

(all in a very cheerful, trusting, definitely-con manner, of course.)

I don't think her snippiness would necessarily have to be lost-- I mean, I think nu!Spock is delightfully snippy (his "roaming the halls weeping" line gets me/makes me want to fuck him every time) so Uhura could basically have the same wit she already does but just with a more deadpan delivery. Which would be even funnier, possibly.

You know, even as I was writing it I knew it was incorrect. You're right-- Spock is snippy all the time, and bitchy, and secretly sulky, and I love it.

BUT.

Somedays I just go look at the scene where Uhura kicks Jim out of her room and is all, "you're gonna FAIL" and the next scene where she is all "you are the stupidest boy EVER omg" and I laugh and I laugh and I laugh.

So. That's what I want to preserve-- that scintillating playground rhetoric. :DDDD

(because there's got to be some galactic language equivalent of telling someone to "spell PIG backwards and say 'funny colors.'")

And Spock can still be commenting on it in deadpan, because I love deadpan and I am all about the OT3. i just have a lot of ot3s, is all.
