“So you used magic? What happened?” Kaylee asked. It sounded so much like a sci-fi tale but she remembered Zoe’s comment to Wash after he said something similar… they did live in a spaceship.
“I told a lie.”
“Oh?”
“I promised but then I decided that I would cast a spell and no one would ever know. But I was in a hurry, and something went wrong… Buffy didn’t just forget about being in heaven, she forgot who she was… we all did.”
She looked at Kaylee and was slightly amused at how high the girl’s eyebrows had raised. But she quickly sobered again. It was still a painful topic to go over.
