"Tony? Man, you sound like something the panther drug in."
Tony perked up a little at hearing the friendly voice on the other end. "Even you'd be out of energy after the last few weeks we've had, Blair. Been a while."
"Every time I think about calling, a case comes up and you know Jim…"
Tony just nodded before adding verbally, "I've got one of my own. I don't think it matters one bit that yours is the Sentinel and mine is the Guide either. I think it's the military in them."
"You need to provide me with your input so I can do a formal study on it. I'm sure there's something to it. But that's not why I called. Although hearing that your just coming down off of a long one, I'm not sure I need to ask."
"Just ask, Blair."
"We've got a case that needs someone with your level of scent expertise. Jim is good, but even he admits your level for smell is greater than his."
"Why didn't you just put in a formal request to the Sentinel Agency? I would have pinged for North America and been contacted."
"I did. When I got the no back from the agency figured calling you was better. Especially after I looked at how many no's you've given in the last few years."
"What?" Tony asked sharply coming alert. "I never say no unless it is something completely ridiculous. I haven't received a request in…" Tony trailed off as he realized just how long it had been since he'd received an agency request.
"Damn!" he cursed when the realization struck. "That bastard. When I… Look , Blair, just send the information to my email. Can it hold for at least a day?"
"Should be okay. What's up?"
"I need to sleep and then I have to go chew out my bastard of Guide for deciding what he probably thinks is my best interest by turning down agency requests. Think I can foist him off on Jim and kidnap you?" Tony huffed out.
"You could try, but I think they'd kill us and then each other. Good luck and I'll be waiting."
