(no subject)
What to say... what to say. Looking at my previous entries I am far happier with how this journal goes than the other one. I don't update this one nearly as often (as the vast chasm of time between the last and this entry can attest to) but quality.
Really, that's what I'm about. Or something.
Unfortunately I will now go from that build-up to a bit more mundanity. Cool, but mundane. Specifically, I got an upright bass! Yay me. The plus is it sounds awesome and since I got it as a grad present I don't need to worry about the insanity of the cost. The downside is, after all my searching, I still haven't found a band to play in :(. This is a pity as it's really hard to know how good one is at an instrument without frets when playing alone; that's dependent on my ear and I want to make sure I don't train that wrong.
Choir tour starts in 2 days. It'll be fun, but I don't look forward to it like I have other years. Some people I wish were coming aren't which kinda puts a damper on things. It also means I'm going to be away from my new bass for a week. I really didn't think it was worth trying to convince them to haul my upright when I can't even fit it in my car.
I hope I figure that out before too long... could get awkward.
In other news, something still doesn't feel quite right. Not near the ye gadsness of last year but not right nonetheless. Possibly just the age-old work angst issue. Hard to tell. For now though I'm off to seize the day. Wish me luck.
