bah humbug (a post that is surprisingly not about christmas)

i was just watching the beginning of last week's flashforward that i missed, and i had a thought. entertainment weekly broached the theory that since everyone's flashforwards made their conciousness jump forward to a certain day, maybe on that certain day, there will be another flashforward because their conciousness is "full" already, if that makes any sense. i'm starting to really agree with that theory.

first piece of evidence: the obvious one. mark on the phone in the preview literally saying, "there's going to be another flashforward".

second piece of evidence: so, the people who made lost (who also had a hand in this) tend to hide little clues in the strangest places. i couldn't help wondering as i was watching the opening scene, what exactly is the significance of showing a christmas carol? yeah, it's christmas and everything, but you know it's gotta be connected. then came the line: "expect the first tomorrow, when the bell tolls one. expect the second on the next night, about the same hour." etc. maybe it's nothing, but that to me is talking about the flashforwards. after all, that's what the spirits represent, because they are showing scrooge the path that he's on and the future, and ultimately they affect how he lives his life... to prevent what the ghost of christmas future showed him.

"expecting the first tomorrow" is the first flashforward. then "expect the second on the next night, about the same hour" could mean that it happens at that same time that the first flashforwards jumped to.

reasons why this won't work: a BIG one. if most people saw themselves awake in their flashforwards, then obviously they can't have another flashforward at that time, because that would mean they're unconcious again.

but i will totally consider myself a genius if this comes true.

conspiracy theories, flashforward
