I'm feeling slightly emotionally better today, but I have a cold now. :( It's not a head cold so at least my sinuses aren't sore and clogged, but I have a sore throat and an awful cough. I certainly sound like I shouldn't be at work today.
Also, I, um, bought a laptop a couple days ago. Yeah, didn't mention that because I'm still kind of stunned that I actually just shelled out over $1200 for something I technically don't need. I mean, my desktop computer works fine. But I've wanted a laptop for years now and it seems like every other grad student in the department has their own. It would be so nice to be able to go to a coffee shop or something and work on my writing, instead of being tied to either my desk at work or my desk at home. I don't actually have it yet because it's still shipping, but based on the tracking information (which I've been checking like every five minutes even though I know that's pointless) I'm hoping it gets here by Saturday. Saturday would also be good because I'll more likely be home to sign for it. The computer is a Gateway C141X, which is one of those convertible notebooks where you can turn the screen around and turn it into a tablet PC. It's the same kind that kevinharris has, and I like his, so I hope I'll be happy with this one.
