(no subject)
I just wanted to credit virtualinsomnia for making this beautiful icon. and I want to credit needalittlejoy for teaching me how to link a person's lj name. yay Erika! speaking of erika, it's her birthday in a week. that's craziness. time flies. also, props to Erika for guessing who was in my black and white icon earlier (it was kristin kreuk, by the way, who can be seen in my newest icon as well). just another reason she's so fabulous.
Derek and I did a lot of shopping today. I bought some book at half price books about this christian chick who gets pregnant by her prayer partner. it looks crazy. I wanted to find anne rice's beauty series ("the taming of beauty", etc.) there but they don't have them. I browsed through the romance section and saw a bunch of books in the same series that Erika and I read in middle school. they sent us a few for free. we just read the sex scenes. it was awesome. anyway, I bought fabric at walmart along with a pattern for teddy bears, bunnies and dogs. they're super cute. I have a really nice sewing machine. I may as well use it. I think it hurts Derek's feelings that I keep it in the corner of my closet but I think he likes seeing me all excited about sewing like I was today. I was thinking my first teddy bear would go to Jamie because I sewed her a heart pillow last year but didn't close it up and never sent it to her. but then considering it's Erika's birthday next week I thought I could give it to her. you see, they are the 2 people in the world that I have to show my good sewing off to because 4 years ago they both experienced my clothing final...the snowman. and I will never live that down. :(
Everyone should visit www.raptureready.com and go to the FAQ page. look under the question about mormons. it's hilarious. the whole site is just this guy's opinions about the coming of the rapture and lots of general religion questions. very interesting. Derek sat with me and explained the stuff to me that I didn't understand (which was a lot of it). amazing how he could look me in the eye and have a serious conversation with me after watching me drink a cup of gravy at dinner. he was truly disgusted. it was great. damn, I've found a great guy. I'm so lucky.
suddenly I want to put on a dress and heels and go dance around. weird.
school is fine. not much to say. however, I've come to the conclusion that the wildlife and fisheries department is truly the right place for me. I've made some good friends and acquaintances in my WFSC classes and since we're all in incredibly similar degree plans we're in the same classes over and over again. this makes class a lot more fun than it was when I was in big general zoology classes where people from lots of different majors and departments were mixed together. I'm going to attwater's prairie chicken range or something in houston next saturday for my ornithology class. excitement.
I'm going to go entertain my boyfriend now. laterZ.
