My Frist Trifle

While in England we stopped to visit my mom's childhood friend Sue who made us a feast of a lunch. Included was a most delicious trifle. Mmmmmmm, looks so good! And so pretty in that dish.

I'd have to go without the raspberries (told you I didn't like very many fruits, sigh), but I'd gobble the rest of it up.

I wonder if you could do a strawberry flavored custard, with straberry chunks, and call it a strawberry shortcake trifle (pound cake, whipped cream, it's all there).

Strawberry shortcake trifle is a great idea!

My mom always made Bird's custard for us growing up, on top of stewed apples . . . mmmm! It's best when it is still piping hot! It's hard to find here, but just found some on Amazon.

Oh, and I bought the dish just to make trifle . . . it is a 'trifle' dish. I found it for $6!

This looks absolutely & sinfully delicious, but I swear I have gained 10 pounds on this trip so I am swearing off of all food until Thanksgiving!
