I've had several friends call me a "busy beaver," and one even called me the "busiest beaver." I suppose that is a good description.
honeymellie's trip here was fantastic. Mellie was an exchange student at my high school my junior year. We really clicked, and
nickyad,
honeymellie and I became extremely close. After she returned to Germany our contact was sporadic, but we still felt that strong connection. I've always had one of my goals to visit her in Germany. She beat me and decided to take her holiday here, and I'm certainly glad she did. In some ways it didn't seem like it had been 9 years since we had last seen each other. Last night we dropped them off at the airport and of course there were tears.
Me, Nicky, Mellie, Andreas (Mellie's hubby)
More photos of her trip to come!
In other busy-ness . . . tomorrow my sister and I fly to Seattle. We are going to visit my grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins. I'm hoping to also make it to a couple bento stores and maybe hunt for a city/town to relocate to. Apparently it is averaging about 70 deg there, while I am boiling in 112 deg! It should be a nice cool-off.
The night I return Josh and I are going to drive up to visit my mom and then my dad for the weekend. Again, it will be nice to get away from the Valley heat.
When I finally return I will only have 2 weeks left before I have to go back to work. I'll be going to the doctor and dentist and catching up with friends I've neglected. If I have time I might actually get some crafting done!!!
Oh, and in other news, I purchased my first laptop. I had been torn about what to get, but thought I would try out a Mac. My little MacBook has been frustrating, but I am getting used the the different platform. I've had a bit of buyers remorse, but I know that I'll figure things out, or my Mac friends will have to teach me.
