My best friend is doing a 10 week internship in D.C. and so I tool the opportunity to head out there for her birthday weekend. I saw so many sites and ate so much yummy food! For simplicity I'll make two posts, one of the sites and the other for foodz!
On Friday I . . .
* toured the Capitol and sat in the Senate Gallery
* visited the Natural History Museum
* met up with Nicky went to the Botanic Gardens
* went on a double decker bus night tour
Saturday we . . .
* visited Abe
* walked through the Korean War Memorial
* saw the front and back (where the kitchen garden is located) of the White House
* ogled over the big 3 documents at the Archives
* went to The BlackCat and listened to local bands
Sunday morning . . .
* toured the Holocaust Museum
Besides the awesome company I really enjoyed the US government/history sites the most. It was amazing to look at the original signed documents and sit in the place where our country was built. It kind of makes you forget about some of the bad things our country has done/been involved with. I enjoyed D.C. much more than I thought I would and would love to go back some day to see the things I didn't have time for. There is just SO much to do!
