I went to the dentist this evening and have returned annoyed. They were behind and I had to wait a bit before they got to me. The hygienist did a quick cleaning and didn't take any x-rays or anything. The dentist came in and tells me that I have 4 cavities. I tell him that this is impossible because my last visit 6 months ago I was told everything was great and I haven't changed my cleaning habits. I thought he has to have me mixed up with someone else, he hadn't even looked in my mouth yet. So I ask him how he knows. He pulled up my x-rays from the last visit and it showed that I had these 4 cavities and I ask how I was told the last time that everything was good. He says "that's why I'm here, and the person who told you that is no longer here." Ugh! Of course I'm pissed that I've been going on 6 months with cavities in my mouth! This new dentist was a very nice guy and funny to boot, so that made up for some of my annoyance. I've also been told for the last year and a half to get rid of the one wisdom tooth I have. I explained to him that the tooth was my friend and that we have conversations all the time, and he told me that I could keep it in a baggy and still have conversations with it! It hasn't bothered me and I make sure to keep it clean but he really wants me to get it out and over with to avoid problems in the future. So now it looks like I'll have some fun things going on in my mouth. Boo!
