I don't know where to begin since I haven't posted in awhile. I guess I'll post my CSA shares and then get into the reason for my absence.
This week's haul:
Cantaloupe, Armenian cucumber, red potatoes, scallop squash, garlic, onion, basil, tomatoes, and eggplant.
I thought the mama and baby scallop squash looked like cute flying saucers. I have no idea how to cook 'em!
Last week's veggies:
Onion, cantaloupe, corn, tomatoes, basil, okra, eggplant, Armenian cucumber, red potatoes.
The reason for my lengthy absence was my flare-up that was pretty bad. I didn't each much (probably about 300 calories a day, barely) and lost about 10 - 12 lbs (I guess that was the only good part). It wasn't that I wasn't hungry, it was that I was nauseous coupled with the constant going to the bathroom and more things that are a bit on the gory side. I was also becoming very anemic and dehydrated so increased the iron and fitness drinks. Last week was I had to go back to work. Luckily it was only teacher work week and I was glad to have my brother come and help me, because I was pretty useless. Luckily I had most things left up on my wall from last year. I was fed up by Thursday and decided to go to the pharmacy and get a refill on the med I wasn't excited about taking. I immediately started feeling better. I can actually get some food down now! I'm still in the midst of this flare-up, but I will be able to survive the first week of school, which starts tomorrow! I also have to thank
muerte for talking to me about UC stuff and I am going to start looking for a new GI doctor and consider surgery. But that will be awhile down the road.
