Sims

I'm feeling snarky.

So the other day I installed Sims Seasons, and for whatever reason the damned game stopped cooperating. I spent several days cleaning up my computer and fiddling with my downloads and such before finally deciding to just uninstall everything and start over. This meant that I lost all my saves, my families, my houses and everything else, which was really frustrating but I got over it. What I didn't get over? WHen I reinstalled the SIms 2 and all the expansions, I discovered that I'd lost my serial number (or whatever) for Glamour Stuff. I tore through everything looking for it, and now I realize I may or may not remember throwing it away. So now I can't install it. I've contacted EA games but haven't heard back. That sucks because I really liked their clothes!

So I spent some of this weekend downloading extras and making new characters. I'm working on my X-men neighborhood again, a neighborhood I'd just begun before all the post-Seasons problems, and this time I'm using all these new hair colors and textures and such and building characters from semi-scratch. It's a pain in the ass, really. The funniest one? I made an Emma Frost only to discover that she looked an awful lot like Porn Star Jenna Jameson. Completely on accident. I wanted her to look a little "made over" (she did have a lot of plastic surgery, after all -- I'm so embarrassed that I know that!), but she ended up looking really greasy and facially anorexic instead, so I discarded her. Le sigh.

I think I am going to use some of today to make some characters too. I'm still getting a hang of the controls and fine tuning is a bit of a bitch sometimes, but it's something to do, right?

Off to do that now. Need something to do to unwind from work anyway...
