this statement seems short-sighted to me... if a person has faith... they are certain in their own minds that the [insert noun here] they have faith in is true, accurate, and right.
for instance, i am certain that my faith in christianity is well-placed.
however, another may be certain that their faith in science and mathematics is just as well-placed.
faith: n. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
in my opinion, a better statement would be that faith is a matter of relativity.
It also works the opposite in the sense that people have faith in their certainty.
The whole faith/reason dichotomy has been something that's been debated and thrown around for hundreds of years by philosphers/theologians. Some of it isn't very interesting; some of it is, though.
