The Pitch

So, this is the pitch for my novel I'm attempting to get published. If you guys could, would you read this and tell me if you like it? Any critique is welcome. Thanks lovelies!
The half-million remaining humans have banded together inside of the Bubble, and The Darkness threatens to destroy what little life they have left - but for the people to rise from the ashes, first a Phoenix must fall. Nelson is humanity’s only hope; however, his time as the people’s “hero” has already come and gone. He has been replaced by a young and innocent face who is too wrapped up in political squabbles to notice the impending doom. The Darkness has secretly infiltrated the New Order’s government, and now holds the power to destroy what little of the Bubble remains.
While the people of the Bubble are caught up in politics, The Darkness uses their distracted state to set them up to fall, and to orchestrate a betrayal that Nelson never saw coming. Nelson sets out to confront The Darkness, and learns that it is more closely tied to humanity than anyone ever thought. The catch? Nelson has The Darkness inside of him.
He is faced with a choice: burn for a people who no longer believe in him, or die for himself?
Damned by his decision, Nelson must band together with friend and foe alike to fight against both humanity and the supernatural. But, having spent his life facing inner and outer demons alone, Nelson Phoenix must realize that this is the one thing he can’t do alone.
No matter what happens, don’t forget: the eyes are the window to the soul.
