Our basement work progresses.
Alyssa was sick Friday night and
musicin68 was a
pirate, so the de-flooring crew was just
beltramgregor and me. Nonetheless, we ripped up 95% of the tiles. We also completely removed the "built-in" shelving that covered the far wall. We didn't really intend to, at first, but then
beltramgregor nudged one of the lower boards and the entire upper shelf (still laden with packed boxes) lightly collapsed atop him as every joint simultaneously disintegrated. (He's fine.)
So we decided to just dismantle them. I am amazed that they held our things off the floor for as long as they did. Or maybe I should be amazed at how little it takes to build a support if you don't have to worry about stresses from anything other than gravity. Speaking of which (sort of),
World of Goo looks awesome, and you should watch their little movie there if you haven't seen it yet.
We spent Saturday packing & unpacking, and Alyssa painted a closet at the new place.
I spent all of Sunday packing, then hauled the load to the new place. As a result, one room at the old house is empty but for the large furniture and my clean clothes.
I am well pleased.
