subtitle: Fuck lj cut!

Holy shit, this weekend was great. and last weekend was great too! Man, do I have a lot of greatness lately. Isn't that just...great?

I'll start with a quick review of last weekend, which wont be too long, because I'm a dolt and didn't do it when it was fresh, so now I don't remember all the detailed details. I got there Thursday at one o'clock in the morning, and walked into a birthday party for Erica. We all stayed up drinking and laughing and taking pictures until about four, maybe? Sleep. I wake up at some ridiculously early hour, we'll say nine, and can't fall back asleep. Stupid body clock not having a snooze button. Shower, read, eventually jump on Danni's bed until she wakes up. We order in Bergen's for breakfast. Mmmm, Bergens Reubens. We...watch the missing last two episodes of the house's set of Carnivale? And wait for People who are working, doing school work, or oops! oversleeping until four pm and/or People who are supposed to be procuring us some recreational activities. We watch...the...oh! Batman 1967 with Burt Ward and Adam West audiowalkthru, whatever the hell that's called. Notice how I put Burt Ward first. He deserves it every once in a while! We go see Duckie and drink and eat pizza. Mmmmm, New York Pizza. I can see right now that this isn't in the right order. I'm not going to change it, just from now on these are just things we did at some point during the stay. We played Egyptian Rat Screw hardcore style, and various other cards games interspersed with best friend conversation and much laughing, and drinking several rather large bottles of beer. We went to the bo-de-ga several times. Got chinese food. Got acid- and while it was severely overpriced I haven't been able to find acid, let alone paper (my favorite), so I bought four hits for...whenever. My birthday?!? !! Um. The end. Because I got to get out this weekend and get my ass to bed. I'm SO zombified tomorrow, I'm already calling it.

This weekend was also wonderful. In fact, may have been the best since I left. It's a pretty close toss up between this one and the last one (Tami and Manning Going Away weekend). That one was just fucking crazy because I was crazy with lack of sleep. This one was crazy 'cause there were adventures in conjunction with lack of sleep. This one wins!! And to think I was a bit miffed at having been guilted down (by a non-lj person) and being sick on top of it. SO.

Got into Jersey at like nine? ten? earlyish. GaySean and I hung out for a bit, chatted, smoked (I'm going to only say this once, but assume it happened every third activity or so), went and got movies and wine, came home and had chips and dip for dinner, Andy came over, we watched said movies, then Golden Girls until about four in the morning. Sleep. AGAIN wake up ridiculously early. Shower, work on a small project I brought with me (cutting up rolls of processed film and putting them into a negative binder sheet). They wake up, we go for breakfast at Nunzio's, I think, which is cute and I like it's atmosphere, but the food isn't very impressive. There is a waiter there that is, though. [In the sentence before the last, that "it's" is that proper grammar or is it "its"?? It's possessive, right?] Then GaySean and I went running around to Sally Beauty and Walmart and Good Will.

The Good Will List:
A FUCKING SOMBRERO $2. I am jacked on that shit!
Awesome shoes $4
6 t shirts $27
3 books $2
NEW CORDUROY JACKET $8 (very like my current, but you know, not torn to shit)

Then he trimmed my hair (LOVE IT) and I went off to Schoolgirl Figure at the Shubin Theater. That was fucking cool. Go see it! Support local creativity!! (For you TP people, and that means YOU, MATT MORGAN, Sarah-former-subscriptions-rep, is in it and is fucking phenomenal. Tell EVERYONE at work.) After that a small group of us assembled at Bob & Barbara's (for those of you that it didn't work out with, there is always next time...) and drank until about one. Ooh! Here's a good adventure:

We went back to my car, and I unlock the driver's door and back door and start to clean out the back seat so there is enough room for all the people attempting to get in, but first decide to let the other people get in because it is cold and windy. I throw the keys over the car to Meg. They slip through her fingers and, the poor girl, she looks down and just gasps. THEY FELL INTO THE FUCKING SEWER GRATE. Aaron, who I commend on being SO calm and is a God damned MacGuyver if I've ever seen one, pretty much takes charge. As per instructions we roll the car forward (thank god I parked semi-illegally on the corner!) and we all heave a incredibly heavy, dirty grate out of it's setting. I go find a flashlight at Tritone. Sean (my hero) jumps down into this muck, which because it had been torrentially downpouring all day (think Noah-style) was probably a couple times more than it would be usually, and fishes around for my lost keys (I'll take a moment to mention this was the THIRD time I had lost my keys that day. Well, I mean, that time we knew where they were...Saturday was a weird day for me and material goods). Meg, Aaron and I go back to her place and talk and drink wine and don't get to bed until just before sunrise. Sleep. AGAIN wake up incredibly fucking early. I slept really lightly and woke up a lot. I ended up getting up an hour before the alarm was supposed to go off. Showered, drank some tea, changed as many clocks as I could find or reach. Went to breakfast with Ben.

I love going to breakfast with Ben. This being the third time in a row, we just decided that this would be our tradition. We both get up pretty early and Sundays are calm, and it's just really nice. I'm always amazed at how fucking smart this guy is. He's in a group of scientists which are basically figuring out how to use a new piece of equipment for a nanomicroscope. He's like one in a hundred in the world or something. But he never makes me feel stupid about any of the piddly shit in my life, and is very good explaining all the things I don't understand about what he's saying to me. Seriously, he will say a sentence, and then I have to process it for ten seconds before I understand what he's talking about. And even then I only get half of it. We went to Carmen's Country Kitchen ("Putting the cunt back in country.") at 11th and Wharton. It was pretty good. I mean, the food was good, but I didn't pay enough attention to what I was ordering, and I would have liked the waffles with mangoes and persimmons more than the omelet with vegetables, ricotta and snapper. I usually go for sweet breakfasts, unless it's breakfast-as-another-meal. I picked up the check this time, because he wouldn't let me pay the last two times (Sabrina's, Italian Market- FANTASTIC). Went back to his house and looked though pictures of his worldly travels (so fucking jealous) while also looking of a picture of him for me, which I couldn't take myself because my camera is sick at the moment. boo. Went back to Studio 1610 to pick up my things and say my goodbyes. Picked up GaySean from Andy's new digs (niiiiice- 10th and Locust, a few doors down from where Tami and Karen used to live) and
went
to
pick
up
KITTENS!!!!
I have two little kittens in my loft right now. One is black- he's the runt, very lanky, looks a little Mexican (yeah, you heard me) and the other is black and white and looks like Hitler (fucking ditto). I swear. I'll post pictures soon. Anyway, Liger and Adolf (the names they came with) hung out with me running to meet various people all over the city. I'll tell you what, carrying around a box full o' pussy puts a strain on the old arm muscles. I've come to calling them Charlie (as in Chaplin) and Joe (as in coffee). We'll see if that lasts. I might have a poll later on. I kinda like the idea of just A and B.

Visited GirlSean for WAY too short a time, but I was in a loading zone so I only had 30 minutes. But it was decided next time I'm down I'd stay with her one night. I think that might be the best way for me to cycle quality time versus at least getting to see people. Frinstance, I'd be happy enough to come give you a five minute hug just so I get to see you as opposed to only see x number of people who get a lot of time per visit. Which is why I'm always running all over the God damn place when I come down. Which isn't likely to change, along with that whole no sleep deal.

LASTLY, but not leastly, I met Livejournal's own coffeeshakes! Crimeny that girl is funny. It was seriously one of the most chill first meetings I've ever had, that I knew was going to happen beforehand. Even from the >10 minutes I spent on the phone with her figuring out scheduling, I knew it'd be hilarious. She, her roommate Adrian, and I went and got coffee, me toting the kittens along (from the response I got, I'm going to start carrying them EVERYWHERE...and get great arms to boot). It was a fucking blast. Then I left the city.

Then Joe started foaming at the mouth. For real. I freaked out and called Becka. She and Chet said it was probably from motion sickness. Poor little fella. But he's fine and dandy and I figured out if you go 80 almost the whole way you can shave a half hour off travel time. When I got back into this area, the fog was so thick that the 15 minute drive from the highway to my house took 40 minutes, so there goes my saved time. I don't care!

And now I am home and it is two o'clock in the morning and the coffee is wearing off and I have to be up in four hours. GOODNIGHT!

storytime, science!, philly love, roses from my friends, omelets, good stuff!
