A nice productive day today. We had to work on our resumes, so I couldn't make any progress on Intermediate Word. That's okay though, because I used the opportunity for skill strengthening. See, although I found a template that appealed to me, I didn't like the order that it presented the information, but being a template, I couldn't change it around without buggering it up. So, I copied the basic formatting, which involved some creative work with tables. I kept the general structure of my original resume, because I've had a lot of positive feedback on it -- it works, it gets me interviews, it ain't broke so I ain't fixing it XD So, after a morning of work, I ended up with purtiful resume that impressed the heck out of teacher.
We're starting our career presentations and I decided to get mine over with early, so that was my afternoon (actually only about twenty minutes of it.) Five weeks ago, we were to choose a career, research it, interview people who do it to gain information about it, and present our findings to the class in a manner of our choice. Having never touched PowerPoint before in my life, I chose that as my format, mainly to see if I could. It went over nicely and teacher was impressed with my speaking presence, making eye-contact and suchlike -- all those dance performances paid off XD The other students who presented also did a good job with their presentations. However, not everyone is a good speaker or presenter, such as the one student whose speech trailed off to look at the pretty pictures, making them irrelevant. That's a matter of training, but it's the reason why I loathe PowerPoint presentations in general -- people tend to speak to support the PPP, rather than the PPP supporting the speech, as was intended.
Work was good, too. Alas, I had an assignment to do, so even though the class was held outside and I had the whole studio to myself for an hour, I couldn't get any dance practice in *chuckle* Still, I got all of the work done and all is good. So all in all, a nice productive day, not too busy, and I have lots of energy at the end of the day. It's been like this for the last six weeks.
The weather is quite warm lately so since I don't have much for hot-temperature office-suitable clothing, I've been wearing t-shirts (the nice ones), my blingy jeans and my Shimmy Dance jacket.
