I think the troublesome thing is that *any* relationship can be abusive or harmful, and this cozy fallacy that one man with one woman is better just leads to trouble down the road.

In an IVF discussion here in England, NHS has proposed that obese women should not get free IVF treatments because it can jeopardize the mother's health and the child. In response one paper said that obese women should be allowed IVF if lesbians and single moms are allowed to raise children. That kind of blatant stupidity is really sad to hear coming from the UK, but it's even more strongly said in the US.

Yes - ANY relationship can be harmful - logical fallacy is annoying.

I really don't have a problem with this, mainly because I think it breeds competition among men. It would force them to work out and look pretty in order to have several wifes or whatever and that makes me laugh.
