Just a little high...

It's about that time again, seems to occur once every 2 or 3 months that I feel the need to write something in here. I don't know if it's coincidence but it always seems to be around the time I run out of work. It's no bad thing though as I have been totally mad busy all month so it's nice to kick back and chill for a bit. It should really be Friday though, it's been a long week.

So, things I have been up to since I last wrote. Home improvement (painting our bedroom which went rather well), sorting out bills and all that boring crap you have to do when you move to somewhere new... Our total for each month is obscene when you include the mortgage and this savings account things we have started, but I guess that's what house ownership is all about. Yay for being as poor as a student again! Guess it at least gives me an excuse for drinking cheap cider.

Anyway… more interesting things I have been up to… had a mad first half of the month, went to Download festival at Donington Park which was HOT, HOT, and hot some more. Tool played and fucking rocked. Alice in Chains played and it was absolutely unbelievable. Metallica played and rocked like they should, playing Master of Puppets in its entirety in honour of its 20th birthday - ROCK!!!! And rock it was. And some other notable performances from Opeth, Down, Strapping Young Lad and Dredg. We gave up and came home on the Sunday because it was about a million degrees and we'd seen all the bands we wanted to see so to prevent further frying we drove home and slept. Then on the Tuesday we got the train down to London after work to see Tool again at Hammersmith Apollo. And whaddaya know, they fucking ROCKED. AGAIN!! Then afterwards we picked up a hire car at Heathrow airport and drove all the way back to Newcastle. Got 2 hours sleep and went to work again the next day. I may be getting older but I'm still hardcore. On occasion.

Then on the Thursday it was my birthday, had a bit of a quiet one due to aforementioned crazy rocking antics, but got some excellent presents including hippy clothes, jewellery, a badminton racket, an England shirt, lots of filthy cash and I'm on a promise to go on holiday to Egypt in October which is AWESOME, as long as Al Qaida can chill out and not bomb it for a while. Yeah.

Then this weekend just gone my parents came up and saw the house for the first time and stayed. They liked it, we ate out at a reasonable Italian and cooked for them and Stephen's parents on Sunday night which went shockingly well. And my parents have asked us to go to South Africa with them in 2007 which also rocks, my parents are the dudes.

Last but not least our friends are moving in with us this weekend and we will be as one again. And our lovely house will probably become a bit of a tip, but hey, we'll be too drunk to care. And we'll be getting nice shiny rent from them. And trying to dodge the tax man in the process. Extra income my arse, it'll all be going on the friggin' bills!!

ROCK!
