I don't think I wrote about it on here, but I founded a non-profit theatre company and directed our first play. It was this past weekend, and it was wonderful! It felt so good to watch it all unfold onstage, costumed, propped, lighted, and with a real audience to react to everything! I was really proud of it. I wish we'd been a little smarter and remembered to invite reviewers- I think we would have gotten a good review. Then again, I'm biased, and my friends and family are only gonna tell me positive feedback, too... so who knows. But I did think my cast and crew were pretty rockin'.
I can't quite relax yet, because we're having an encore performance in a park this weekend. All the cast and crew wanted to, because we all have friends who were out of town or otherwise couldn't make it on Memorial Day weekend. I'm going to see the space after work today, we have rehearsal tomorrow, and then the show's on Saturday at 2pm.
I can't believe two months of work are almost over. It was definitely a learning experience, but it turned out very well in the end. It meant so much to have so many friends and family come to see the show.
Whew... almost done.
